West Cork Distillers was founded in 2003 by John O'Connell, Denis McCarthy and Ger McCarthy and has since grown to a team of over 200 people based in our distillery in Skibbereen, Co. Cork and our second plant Donohoe Drinks In Watertford.

We are built on an entrepreneurial energy and a passion for the science and art of spirit and whiskey production.

We have been recognised for our innovative approach, and credited with maturing, distilling and bottling some of the finest craft Irish Whiskey on the global market today.

We Are Looking For..

We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to ensure that the highest standards Health, Safety and Environmental Health and Safety are maintained throughout our sites.

What you'll do.

Lead all aspects of West Cork Distillers and Donohoe Drinks Safety Program to :

• Develop and implement EHS policies and strategies to ensure the safety of all persons on site, assist in the protection of the environment and ensure ongoing legal compliance.
• Drive site wide compliance to established EHS practices and procedures.
• Ensure site policies and procedures comply with COMAH / Serveso Regulations and liaising with the Health and Safety Authority as required.
• Carrying out safety inspections and producing relevant safety risk assessments.
• Drive accident / incidents investigations and ensuring any corrective actions are implemented without delay.
• Identify new and on-going safety related training requirements, ensuring all mandatory training is delivered in a timely fashion and employee training status is maintained.
• Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all
• Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and COMAH legislation and any developments that affect West Cork Distillers industry.
• Regularly review and update the company's safety statement.
• Lead the company's IPC Licence compliance by identifying and implementing 'best in class' environmental practices.

9.00am - 17.00pm, Monday to Friday

Travel will be required to our Waterford site Dohone Drinks once every two weeks
