Role : Business Development Partner

Location : Rathcoole, Dublin

Job Type : Permanent - Full time

Salary : €80,000 to €100,000

At Elk Recruitment, we are looking for a driven Business Development Partner to join our client’s growing team based in Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Partner to make a real impact in an innovative and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify, assess, and develop new business opportunities in the renewable energy space, including greenfield and co-development projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local authorities, utilities, developers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for land acquisition, partnerships, and project development agreements.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of viable renewable energy projects aligned with company strategy and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (legal, engineering, finance, environmental, grid) to progress projects from concept to financial close.
  • Conduct market and policy analysis to stay ahead of regulatory and incentive changes.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence and project evaluation.
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, preferably in renewables or energy infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of the Irish energy market, planning system, and grid connection process.
  • Proven track record in project development or investment within wind, solar, battery storage, or hydrogen.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel across Ireland and occasionally to the UK or Europe.
  • Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience working with EirGrid, ESB Networks, and relevant Irish regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of corporate PPA structures and renewable project financing.
  • Fluency in Irish energy / climate policy landscape (e.g., RESS, Climate Action Plan, etc.)
