Parker Stewart are partnering with a multinational technology organisation to hire Optical Network Development Engineers on an initial 11-month day-rate contract, with the scope for the position to become permanent after.

This role will be based in Dublin on-site, however there is some degree of flexibility with the client.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a skilled engineers with expertise in optical networking to help architect and expand high-capacity infrastructure across a distributed network of data centres.

This position involves end-to-end involvement in the development and implementation of advanced optical solutions that underpin large-scale cloud platforms, support diverse customer needs, and enable internal systems to operate efficiently on a global scale.

What will you be doing?

The global infrastructure division is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data center environments — from strategic planning and design to deployment and ongoing operations.

This team ensures the seamless performance of the systems behind large-scale cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and facility infrastructure like power and cooling.

They tackle complex, variable-rich challenges across global supply chains and are searching for driven individuals eager to help maintain and evolve the backbone of modern digital services.

Requirements & Responsibilities : 4+ years experience planning and deploying high capacity DWDM and Optical network systems Collaborate with vendors / manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features Create implementations plans for incorporating them into the network Experience in working in a highly available network and highly operationally awareor similar tool for network automation scripting A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience such as the rollout of large DWDM networks and Optical network technologies (preferred) This is a daily-rate, contract position with the possibility of the role becoming permanent after the initial 11-month contract.
