    Role Overview

    The Financial Controller will play a key role in shaping the financial direction of our hospitality division, managing both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning. The role requires someone commercially sharp, operationally hands-on, and able to lead a high-performing finance team.

    This is a growth role for someone ready to take ownership of financial processes and support a group scaling rapidly—both organically and through acquisition.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end management accounts.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
  • Monitor cash flow, revenue, and profitability to ensure group stability.
  • Cost Control & Optimisation

  • Lead cost management across all business units.
  • Analyse financial performance and drive improvements.
  • Support operations in finding efficiencies and margin growth.
  • Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure adherence to statutory obligations and accounting standards.
  • Manage year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Maintain strong internal controls.
  • Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor the accounts team.
  • Oversee payroll, AP, AR, and general ledger activities.
  • Drive improvements in finance processes and systems.
  • Strategic Support & Growth

  • Work with the Finance Director and Group leadership on acquisition modelling and integration.
  • Hospitality Portfolio Focus

  • Oversee the finances for our current portfolio and support future additions.
  • Help structure reporting and controls across multiple operating formats.
  • Ideal Candidate Profile

  • We are looking for an ambitious, confident and professional individual with strong communication, organisational, analytical and people management skills.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality industry or food and beverage environment.
  • The ideal candidate will be a qualified or part qualified accountant.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures with strong internal control awareness.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred but not essential.
  • 3+ years in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Background in hospitality, retail, or multi-site operations.
  • Strong grasp of reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Confident in financial systems and tools (e.g. Sage, Excel, POS systems).
  • Ability to lead a team and influence non-finance stakeholders.
