Counter Sales Assistant Flanagan Timber Ltd - County Meath Flanagan Timber Ltd located in Duleek Co. Meath is a long established Timber Importer and supplier. We are looking to recruit an experienced Timber and Hardware counter sales assistant who can attend to customers at our busy trade counter and also attend to general shop duties with Merchandising and orders. As we are mainly dealing with Hardware Companies, Building Contractors Carpenters and General Builders it would be essential to have had experience with Timber products and building materials and to be competent in advising customers on suitable products. As this job involves knowledge of timbers / hardware / building materials we are requesting candidates to please state what experience they may have that is relative. Our hours of trading are Weekdays Mon-Thurs 8.00am -5 : 30pm, Friday 08 : 00-4 : 00pm and Saturday 8 : 00-12 : 00pm. Duties and Responsibilities : Service customers at the counter by taking orders and processing them accurately Provide product, pricing and availability information to customers Follow company pricing and credit guidelines Solve or find someone to quickly solve customers problems Respond to sales inquiries either by phone or over the counter, provide advice, information, quotations and ensure the maximum level of sales and margin Keep customers updated on orders and deliveries Monitor customer orders and deliveries Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items as well as new products Handle customer complaints and returns, while showing a positive attitude Keep merchandising and counter areas clean and attractive General store upkeep Maintain stock levels ensuring that all areas are full and merchandised correctly. Participate in company-sponsored sales promotions Work with other departments to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner Job Requirements : Delivers superior customer service Effective listening and good phone skills Able to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact Team player who works productively with wide range of people Professional demeanour Comfortable in fast-paced environment Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures Understands basic inventory, warehousing and stocking procedures Accuracy and attention to detail Technical expertise and knowledge of company products Demonstrated success meeting sales goals and growing sales Experience : 2 years in Hardware / DIY position preferable.
