Purpose of the Role

The post holder will guide and support undergraduate nursing students in assigned clinical areas to ensure that the clinical placement meets the requirements and standards of the education programme with regard to planned experiences and outcomes

Essential Criteria : Candidates must :

  • Be registered in the Children’s Division of the active Register held by the NMBI or be entitled to be so registered.
  • Have at least 5 years post registration experience with a minimum of 2 years in children’s nursing, to include working with nursing students in clinical areas.
  • Be currently in nursing practice.
  • Have a relevant professional academic qualification of not less than level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
  • Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate evidence of continuing learning and professional development.
  • Have previous experience of supervision of nursing students.
