Port of Waterford Hiring Marine & Port Operative

The Port of Waterford is inviting applications for the position of Marine & Port Operative.

The Marine & Port Operative will be expected to be capable of carrying out a wide variety of marine-related tasks including, but not confined to, the operation of pilot launches, vessel husbandry and maintenance, marine communications, vessel traffic management system inputs, maintaining aids to navigation, general stevedoring and port-related maintenance.

The position is full-time and normally based in Dunmore East, Co Waterford.

Ideally applicants will possess a current Passenger Boat proficiency Certificate or a Passenger Boat Commercial Endorsement for a vessel holding P5 Passenger Boat Licence and also hold the appropriate certificate for the operation VHF radios.

Additionally, holding a valid medical certificate (ENG 11) and a Personal Survival at Sea certificate is beneficial.

Applicants should be familiar with marine operations in a port environment and have recent experience in the handling and operation of semi-displacement craft.
