The Opportunity

The Enterprise Digital Underwriting Team are recruiting an Enterprise Underwriting Assistant to support efficiency in underwriting processes for our Enterprise Underwriting Teams. Working within a dynamic team of Underwriting Assistants the successful candidate will support the underwriting teams by providing administrative assistance. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of underwriting activities and maintaining excellent customer service standards. The Underwriting Assistant is expected to maintain a positive attitude in all interactions and tasks. This includes demonstrating enthusiasm and a proactive approach to challenges, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.

This role serves as an excellent first step into the field of commercial underwriting for individuals eager to pursue a career in this dynamic and rewarding area. As a member of our team, you will gain valuable exposure to the underwriting process, develop essential skills, and build a strong foundation for future growth in commercial underwriting. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, providing insights and guidance as you embark on your underwriting journey.

While the role is officially based in Elm Park, Dublin 4 the team currently uphold a highly flexible hybrid way of working and attend the office at least twice a month.

Role Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to learn from team members and will provide support in the following key areas :

  • Delivering prompt and accurate underwriting support to our Enterprise Underwriting Teams.
  • Delivering comprehensive insurance solutions that meet broker needs while aligning with company objectives.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements in processes, proposition or service to best serve our customer base.
  • Developing and building relationships with underwriters by supporting, corresponding and attending meetings
  • Working within a financially regulated environment all compliance standards and guidelines must be adhered to and will form a key basis for performance evaluation.

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and support.
  • Availability to attend the office on a hybrid basis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn underwriting software.

  • This role is subject to Minimum Competency Code (“MCC”) as provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland.    A recognised insurance qualification may be required for this position. Appointment to this role will be subject to the requirements provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland.    This role is a Control Function (CF-4, 8) and is subject to F&P Standards.   This includes the requirements provided for by the Central Bank (Individual Accountability Framework) Act 2023.   The successful candidate will be provided with the relevant Conduct Standards (including Additional Conduct Standards) training, where required.
