Role : Onsite Quantity Surveyor Location : Co. Dublin (site-based, full-time) We are currently working with a leading construction and civil engineering contractor who is seeking an Onsite Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of key projects across Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven QS looking to gain practical, hands-on experience in a site-based role while working closely with experienced commercial and operational teams. Key Responsibilities : Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions, helping to establish project budgets and monitor ongoing cost performance Support the development of cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and financial models to assist in project planning and procurement strategy Contribute to the preparation and agreement of final accounts, including measured works, variations, loss and expense claims, and contra charges Participate in subcontractor procurement processes, including the preparation of packages, bills of quantities, and bid analysis Conduct feasibility assessments and value engineering reviews to optimise commercial outcomes and identify cost-saving opportunities Prepare and review labour productivity targets and performance-based incentive calculations Monitor and verify project costs, ensuring accurate recording and escalation of discrepancies to senior QS or contract management Assist with risk management and provide commercial insights to support operational decision-making on site Requirements : Minimum 5 years commercial experience in civil engineering and utilities projects In-depth knowledge of standard construction contracts (e.g., NEC, FIDIC, or similar) and relevant legal frameworks Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field (Level 8 or equivalent) Strong ability to interpret and work with technical drawings, specifications, tender documentation, and bills of quantities Proven track record of contributing to commercial success in high-pressure, fast-paced site environments Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both site and office-based teams Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving This is a full-time, permanent position offering career growth and exposure to complex, high-profile infrastructure works.
