Role : We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Compliance Officer for our client based in Clondalkin, Dublin 22. This is a key role responsible for overseeing environmental compliance across waste collection, processing, and recovery operations, while also supporting the companys health and safety management systems. Responsibilities : Manage and oversee all environmental compliance activities, ensuring full adherence to EPA waste permits and current environmental legislation. Conduct regular internal audits, site inspections, and environmental sampling. Maintain and develop the Environmental Management System (EMS), including SOPs and risk assessments. Complete and submit environmental returns and reports to the EPA and other regulatory bodies. Liaise directly with regulatory agencies such as the EPA, HSA, and RSA as required. Keep up to date with changes in environmental legislation, regulations, and best practices. Provide internal guidance, support, and training on environmental policies and procedures. Develop and deliver training sessions, inductions, and toolbox talks for staff. Support the maintenance of the companys Health & Safety Management System. Assist with routine health & safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Deliver health & safety inductions and toolbox talks to promote a safe working culture. Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Requirements : Previous experience in environmental compliance, waste management, environmental science, or a related regulatory field. Strong understanding of Irish environmental legislation and EPA licensing requirements. Familiarity with ISO management systems (particularly ISO 14001) is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage confidently with regulators and internal teams. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively. A practical, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
