Located in Dublin, Cruiserath Biologics Campus, a one billion Multi-Product Cell Culture Biologics Manufacturing facility plays a central role in the Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) network as the company’s first European biologics manufacturing facility. This state of the art facility will produce multiple therapies for the company’s growing biologics portfolio. Global Biologics Laboratory (GBL) responsible for the release testing of Biologics Drug product for the network, is also based on the Cruiserath Biologics Campus.

The Role
The Senior EHSS Specialist helps ensures compliance with Irish and European environmental, safety and sustainability regulations. They develop and implement EOHSS programs, create and maintain reports, and ensure adherence to workflow timelines. Responsibilities include supporting day-to-day activities in various operational functions, acting as a key contact for internal customers, and promoting an EOHSS culture. They collaborate at site and above-site levels, support the training program, participate in EOHSS discussions and audits, and perform risk and hazard assessments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ensures compliance with Irish and European environmental, safety, medical surveillance and sustainability laws, regulations, codes, rules, and consensus guides.
- Develop and implement new EOHSS programs, policies, and procedures and update and improve existing ones.
- Develop, create, and maintain, and distribute EOHSS reports, and records as assigned.
- Create and maintain a systemic process to ensure workflow timelines for EOHSS events and action plans are adhered to including mechanisms for EOHSS performance and trend reports.
- Using a client representation model, support day-to-day activities in one or more operational functions across the Cruiserath campus. This may include Commercial and / or Clinical drug substance manufacturing, support of Site Engineering (Maintenance and Critical Utility activities), Supply Chain / Warehouse, and Laboratories (Quality Control and Process Development).
- Key contact for internal customers, researchers, facilities, management, and other cross functional groups, building strong relationships by handling EOHSS inquiries.
- Participate in and show leadership in an EOHSS culture at the site that partners with operational teams to ensure all are accountable for EOHSS culture and performance, modelling what good looks like.
- Proactively collaborates at site and above-site levels.
- Support the training program by assisting in the development and delivery of EOHSS specific training topics.
- Participates in EOHSS operational and tier discussions, EOHSS committees and teams; and EOHSS self-assessments, inspections, GEMBAs, and audits.
- Perform risk and hazard assessments throughout the campus. This includes involvement in PHAs for Process Safety.
- Challenges the status quo and brings new approaches to continually improve the effectiveness of workflows and processes (learn and apply new concepts).
- Review and ensure accurate and complete resolution of issues as they arise and escalates concerns, resource constraints, needs, with urgency to appropriate leaders in the organization.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required :
B.S. degree in Environmental Studies, Health & Safety, or SciencePrior EHS experience (3-6 years) requiredProficient with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).Experience with incidents and / or learning systems database (e.g., Intelex, Success Factors, etc.) preferred.Previous experience related to the EOHSS Irish and European regulations (EPA, HSA, Irish Water) preferred.Ability to take initiative and adapt to frequently changing priorities simultaneously and think creatively, critically, and strategically to solve problems in a complex environment with urgency, agility, and calm.Prioritizes work and thinks independently, analyses and solves complex problems with excellent judgment, quality, and detail in an urgent manner.Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset that takes a proactive, solution-oriented approach to identifying issues and developing innovative and effective solutions to improve operations.Strong decision-making capability to guide assigned projects to successful conclusions.Experience handling confidential information and sensitive issues in a diplomatic manner to ensure integrity and confidentiality.Excellent transparent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills with a proclivity for partnership and collaboration with peers, all levels of management, cross-functional teams at site and EOHSS above site teams.Why you should apply
