CDB Aviation is currently welcoming applications for a Trading Director role based in its Dublin office.

The Role Reporting to the SVP & Team Lead - Trading, the Trading Director will be a core member of the Trading Team focusing on trading aircraft and shaping the portfolio to underpin the value and growth of the CDB Aviation platform.

The Trading Director will be a key interface for trading transactions both internally across multifunctional deal teams and externally with leasing companies and financial investors.

To apply the CDB Aviation trading philosophy and transact according to the Company portfolio development plan.

To work closely with the SVP & Team Lead - Trading to review the current portfolio and to define the future portfolio shape.

To apply key metrics and financial returns for assigned aircraft acquisition and divestment projects ensuring that all key decisions are supported by full and complete evaluation and support data.

Build and maintain relationships with potential trading partners amongst lessors and financial investors (for both acquisition and selling purposes).

Present and analyse new business opportunities (individual aircraft, portfolios, etc.).

Oversee the handling of assigned aircraft purchase and sale LOI preparation, negotiation and execution tasks liaising internally with Finance, Technical and Legal functions.

Evaluate opportunities to trade out of specific aircraft or aircraft types and monitor the portfolio on an on-going basis.

To provide input to the Commercial Team on market development with respect to growth, aircraft placement and trading opportunities and asset type potential.

Working with CDB Aviation's upstream CDB Leasing and CDB in pursuit of commercial opportunities of potential benefit both to CDB and to CDB partners.

General support of the SVP & Team Lead - Trading and ad hoc projects as required.

The Person Degree educated or equivalent in finance, economics or other relevant disciplines.

A successful performance history and demonstrable experience in a trading role or trading adjacent with a global aircraft lessor.

A proven trading transaction list is an advantage.

Extremely financially literate with strong excel modelling skills and an excellent understanding of investment evaluation techniques, aircraft and engine types, and aircraft valuation methodologies.

Self-starter with attention to detail and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to negotiate skilfully with both internal and external parties.

Demonstrated ability to win concessions with counterparties where there is an ongoing relationship.

Established relationships with counterparts at competitors and other potential trading partners.

High motivated and ambitious with well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.

Ability to negotiate, communicate and influence at the highest levels within the aviation community.

Can work well within a global, multi-cultural team.

Willingness to travel internationally, often at short notice.
