Our client,

a leading multidisciplinary contractor in Ireland, is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team for an Overhead Line framework project based in Kildare . This full-time, permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment, working on high-profile projects in Kildare and Dublin .

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Support

  • Assist in implementing commercial strategies to meet project goals.
  • Support Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyors with : Preparing tenders, evaluating proposals, and finalizing subcontractor agreements.Financial and commercial management of subcontractors, ensuring Final Account resolution.

Documentation & Financial Oversight

  • Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
  • Conduct and document detailed site measurements.
  • Contribute to cost-value reconciliations (CVRs) , forecasts, and financial targets.
  • Manage valuations and ensure timely submission and agreement of variations.
  • Team Collaboration & Risk Management

  • Collaborate with site management teams to address commercial issues.
  • Actively engage in the CVR process, providing independent analysis.
  • Identify and mitigate risks while leveraging project opportunities.
  • Support cash flow management to ensure strong financial health.
  • Mentorship & Learning

  • Supervise and mentor Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Develop understanding of Design & Build (D&B) and Contractor Design Portion (CDP) contracts.
  • Gain experience in contract law, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Client Liaison

  • Engage with clients on commercial matters related to the project.
  • Promote and protect the company’s commercial and contractual rights.
  • Requirements

  • Experience : Minimum 1 year as a Quantity Surveyor in a Civils / Construction environment.
  • Skills : Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Proficiency with technology platforms and the Standard Method of Measurement .Effective time management, organization, and negotiation skills.Demonstrated commercial awareness and ownership.
