Job Description

The successful candidates will inspect the delivery and management of water & waste water network connection projects for private sector clients in Ireland.

Role Overview

The Site Inspection Engineer shall undertake site quality control inspections as directed by Client.

These inspections will require examination of works on site, review of developers documentation and liaison with site representatives to confirm compliance with Irish Water Standard Details and Codes of practice.

Confirmation of conformance on site will result in infrastructure being Vested in Irish Water as part of connection agreements (Self Lay Agreements) for residential developments.

Site inspection of diversions will also be required to ensure compliance with Irish Water Standard Details and Codes of Practice.

The roles will be directed from the regional office and will require inspections on development sites throughout the geographical region in which the resource is located.

Compliance with Health and Safety regulation requirements for site inspections shall be a pre requisite of the role (i.e. Safe Pass).

Requirements

Level 8 degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. A post graduate degree would be advantageous

Minimum of 6 years' experience in the design, procurement and / or contract supervision of water services projects

A track record in the delivery of water network projects

Experience in water conservation, DMA design and establishment, leakage control, pressure management, network management and watermains rehabilitation would be advantageous

Working knowledge of typical contract forms

Track record of leading or working in design teams and working as part of both Employer-led and Contractor-led design teams

Contractor design review experience beneficial

Team Player with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), team working skills and analytical skills

Ability to lead and motivate themselves and others; willingly takes ownership of issues and seeks team participation to achieve best solution.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations.

Ability to devise new approaches to problems encountered.

Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications (MS Word and MS Excel in particular, MS Project desirable) and simulation software.

Salary €40k - €55k + benefits
