Our client is a leading Main Mechanical Engineering Contractor working on large scale industrial buildings projects across Ireland and Europe.
They are renowned for delivering complex and high-value mechanical, HVAC, and piping solutions across a diverse range of sectors including Data Centres, Pharma, Commercial, Healthcare, and Industrial projects
Project loctions in Ireland include : Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford and the Midlands.
Project loctions in Ireland include : Belgium,Sweden, Netherlands and the UK.
Roles in Europe are on a rotational basis and include

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to be a key player on a dynamic project team delivering high-profile, mission-critical facilities across Ireland and Europe.
This role involves overseeing and coordinating the commissioning process of complex mechanical systems to ensure peak performance, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Commissioning Leadership : Plan and execute commissioning activities for mechanical systems across assigned projects. Work closely with project teams to establish and meet commissioning milestones.
System Testing & Calibration : Execute detailed testing and calibration of mechanical equipment including HVAC, VAVs, ductwork, AHUs, and refrigerant systems.
Life Safety Systems : Manage commissioning of fire / smoke damper systems, hydronic pipework, evaporative cooling units, and waste heat recovery.
Building Automation Systems (BAS) : Oversee controls and instrumentation testing to ensure full integration and performance validation.
Troubleshooting : Investigate system issues, resolve deviations, and provide technical solutions in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
Documentation & Reporting : Maintain meticulous records, test reports, and system validation logs. Deliver clear, professional commissioning reports to clients.
Client Engagement : Act as a key point of contact during commissioning phases—communicating updates, resolving queries, and delivering trusted results.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
4+ years’ experience in mechanical commissioning—data centre, industrial, or commercial sector
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, life safety and mechanical infrastructure systems
Familiarity with commissioning codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, BSRIA, CIBSE)
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Proficiency in commissioning software and reporting tools (CxAlloy, Bluebeam, etc.)
Willingness to travel to domestic and international project sites as required
