Work Schedule : 35 hours

Contract : Permanent

Reporting to : The post holder will be responsible to Crosscare Counselling Service Manager or nominated Deputy.

The Role : The post holder will engage in therapeutic relationships with clients 12 to 25.

The post holder will work with other members of the clinical team to provide a person-centred care service.

General Responsibilities Provide individual counselling and group therapy to between 12 to 25 years of age.Manage a caseload across a range of programmes under the supervision of the line manager.Understand and prioritise Service User needs, taking account of the influence of family, mental health, peer group, gender, culture and sexuality on beliefs and behaviors.Conduct comprehensive assessment of the presenting issues of the client and concerned persons where appropriate.Facilitation of therapeutic groups.Development and maintenance of clinical partnerships with professionals working in same or other treatment modalities and settings.Notification of child protection concerns in accordance with "Children First" Guidelines in consultation with Crosscare Designated Liaison Person.To monitor and evaluate effectiveness and outcomes of treatment for individuals / groups, matching therapy to needs.Onward referral when appropriate.Referral of clients to self-help groups and community initiatives.Flexibility in practice as required i.e.

out of hours, provision of new programs and service initiativesThe candidate must, at the latest date for receipt of completed application forms for the post, possess :

Professional Qualification in Counselling / Psychotherapy of at least 2yrs Diploma Standard AND

• Accreditation with relevant Professional Body within ACI (previously IAAAC) or IACP, IHIP or other AND
• A minimum of two years' experience of managing a case load under supervision, after achieving professional qualification.
