Essential criteria for the position of Senior Social Care Worker :
- A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care / Studies / Practice at degree level is essential
- Eligible to register with CORU as a Social Care Worker
- At least one year’s recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
- Availability to work shifts on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and may also be required to complete sleep-in duties.
- Full, drivers licence desirable
- Permission to work in Ireland essential

A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care / Studies / Practice at degree level is essential , (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORUs website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; ORA relevant 3rd level qualification at degree level i.e. Social Work / Psychology with at least 2 years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; ANDEligible to register with CORU as a Social Care WorkerSkills / Abilities required of a Senior Social Care Worker
At least one year’s recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needsProven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care SectorUnderstanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autismProven ability to work on own initiativeDemonstrated leadership skillsFluent English and excellent communication skillsPlaces the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activitiesDelivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan.Experience at a similar level with responsibility for supervising / managing a teamProven experience in managing team rotaExperience of leading / chairing meetingsFull, drivers licence desirableWho the people we support would like support from :
