Warehouse Operative – Shannon

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative with a Shannon-based client. This position is a permanent role offering a highly attractive package for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities :

Safely load and unload freight vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) .

Receive and process goods inwards .

Efficiently store stock in designated warehouse locations using a Reach FLT (with racks up to 7 meters high).

Accurately pick and pack orders from stock, following the FIFO (First In, First Out) method .

Prepare orders for dispatch, including pallet building .

Input transport bookings into the freight system for tracking and management.

Coordinate with domestic transport companies to arrange timely collection and delivery .

Communicate effectively with external customers, suppliers, and contractors .

Collaborate with internal departments , including operations, finance, and management, to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

Participate in regular stock-taking and cycle counting procedures .

Maintain a clean and safe working environment through consistent housekeeping duties.

Minimum Requirements :

A valid and up-to-date Counterbalance and Reach FLT License.

Current Manual Handling Certificate .

At least two years’ experience working in a warehouse environment, particularly in fast-paced settings involving groupage loading .

Proven ability to accurately pick stock with strong attention to detail.

Proficiency in warehouse management systems for data entry.

Strong command of both written and spoken English .

Excellent communication skills , with the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs , including Outlook and Excel .

Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.

Strong customer service orientation and commitment to meeting customer needs.

Flexibility to undertake additional duties as required.

Desired Skills :

Experience with freight IT systems .

Full, clean driving license .

Dangerous Goods Awareness Training (desirable).

Working Hours :

Monday to Friday, 09 : 00 – 17 : 30 , with flexibility for overtime as needed.

Contract Terms :

Permanent contract , subject to a six-month probation period .
