Job Description
Cowper Care is seeking applications for the role of Care Manager (Person in Charge) for its Nursing Home in Dublin .
The role is one of professional and clinical leadership and management in the day to day operations of a residential home in conjunction with the Service Manager.
Report directly to the Clinical Director and is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer.
This is a Full-time position – 39 hours per week.
Garda Vetting and a clean medical will be required for the successful applicant.

About The Role
The Care Manager (Person in Charge) will :
Ensure the implementation of the applicable legislation and HIQA standards.
Promote, through high standards of professional practice, a caring environment conducive to the physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each person in a way that reflects the privacy, dignity and all the basic values that underpin a quality of life.
Be entered on to a public register for the purpose of being accredited as the ‘Person in Charge’ of the Care Centre to which you are assigned.
Requirements
Must be a registered nurse (on, or eligible to be on, the live register of nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, NMBI)
Must have 7 years relevant post registration nursing experience
Must have (within the last 6 years) a minimum 3 years’ relevant experience, caring for the older person
Must have (within the last 6 years) a minimum of 3 years management / supervisory experience, including team leadership with resource planning and allocation at CNM level or higher
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, relatives / visitors, employees, management and external bodies e.g . GPs, hospitals, HSE, HIQA, etc .
Must have post-registration qualification in Gerontology or Dementia Care and a Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or equivalent
Experience of working in a JCI (Joint Commission International) accredited facility and an understanding of that process would be an advantage
