Summary
The successful candidate will be a self-starter and eager learner who is responsible for supporting Dolby’s technology licensing program, product development, and technology services. The position interacts extensively with senior management and requires mature judgment and the ability to work effectively as a contributing member of the team with minimal direction.
This position is based in Dolby’s office in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Support the standard technology licensing program of Dolby technologies and create licensing programs for new initiatives, which will include negotiating standard agreements and ability to escalate issues to the business or legal leadership as necessary
- Advise the company on the acquisition, development, and commercialization of third-party technologies and related intellectual property matters
- Counsel senior management in connection with complex transactional matters associated with licensing and collaboration agreements, intellectual property licensing strategies and protection of intellectual property rights
- Negotiate and draft complex technology transfer and business development, and intellectual property licensing agreements
- Work with sales and marketing organizations within the Company to develop guidelines and agreement templates, negotiate program agreements, and develop and define program criteria and processes
- Provide guidance to sales teams as to legal workflows and processes, which includes working with contract administrators for contract execution and program set-up
- Provide information and training to internal groups as required
- Participate in internal working groups or taskforces as legal representative
- Provide such other corporate, licensing, and intellectual property management support as may be assigned by supervisor

Fluency in a foreign languageKnowledge of patent and competition law, experience with IP litigation, especially patent litigation, is a plus but not requiredFamiliarity with standards setting organizations and standards obligations is a plus but not requiredExperience with working in a distributed team structure across different geographical locations
