About the Role

Perform Recruitment is seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join our clients expanding food manufacturing facility in Drogheda. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading name in the chilled convenience food industry , delivering high-quality, ready-to-eat products to major retailers across Ireland and Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance operations, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring full compliance with food safety standards and retailer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team to achieve high performance and continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with BRC standards , customer specifications, and relevant food legislation
  • Oversee and prepare for internal and external audits, including visits from EHOs and major retail clients
  • Ensure robust food safety systems , particularly for Ready-To-Eat (RTE) product lines
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related queries from retailers including Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, and Musgrave
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Technical, and NPD teams to ensure smooth and compliant operations

Promote a culture of proactive problem-solving and high-quality standards

Occasional travel within the UK and Europe for audits and technical meetings

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a high-care or high-risk food manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with BRC food safety standards

    Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively

    Experience working with auditors, EHOs, and technical representatives from major retail chains

    Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills

    Fluent in both verbal and written English

    Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

    Desirable

    Familiarity with Tesco TFS, TQC, Foods Connected, or Inspectario

    Experience in fresh produce or chilled convenience foods

    Understanding of various Irish retailer standards (Aldi, Lidl, Musgrave, etc.)
