Job Description

We are currently seeking a  Technical Operations Manager   to join our site leadership team, reporting to our Site Head. The Technical Operations Manager leads all Technical, Science & Technology, and Validation activities related to supply of current products and new product launches.

This includes coaching and mentorship of an experienced and skilled team across Process Technical Support, NPI, Validation, Yield Improvement, New Technology, Innovation.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure the development and delivery of the Technical Operations function vision and strategic objectives.
  • Build, develop and mentor a team of diverse professionals within your function.
  • Responsible for leading the product scale-up and technical transfer from Process Development, Science & Technology (PDS&T) to the site.
  • Lead site validation activities to support NPI, process changes, new equipment installation and qualification.
  • Strategically position the site to attract new products and investments from the Abbvie pipeline or through CMO opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for Health & Safety, as well as the core Environmental and Energy Sustainability Programmes within the Technical Operations function.
  • Partner with the Senior Leadership team to execute on the site and enterprise-wide strategy.
  • Develop senior level relationships with internal & external stakeholders to ensure product availability, deliver cost savings, and implement value-added processes.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects in the Technical Operations function.  Measure functional performance through appropriate KPI’s.
  • Work with the quality system ensuring that the site quality and safety licences and standards are fully complied with on a continuous basis being a key stakeholder during regulatory compliance audits.
  • Contribute to the development of the PDS&T Function, i.e. become an active participant of the global team.
  • Champion and lead Culture & Engagement and EEDI initiatives in Technical Operations function and across the site.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. qualification in Science or Pharmacy. >
  • 10 years’ experience in a leadership position within the biopharmaceutical industry

  • 5 year + People Management with demonstrated ability to develop key talent and to set clear vision and strategy for your team
  • OPEX Black / Green belt certified preferably
  • Experience in engaging, collaborating, and influencing at senior leadership level with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think outside the box and provide solutions through structured trouble shooting methodologies
