Engineer / Technical Dublin Permanent Role Title : Cable Technician

Role Purpose :
Your primary focus will be on the replacing and / or moving of HFC plant elements such as Taps, Splitters, Amplifiers, Line Extenders etc. Also involving the installation of Network cables on both underground and overhead infrastructure.
Full training is provided. You will need a full driver’s license to be considered for this role.

Principal Responsibilities :
Rodding & Roping using specialised tools on the UG Network, clearing blockages where necessaryTroubleshoot and repair HFC trunk & distribution RF, AC & DC faults and troubleshoot basic optical issuesPerform routine Optical Node, RF Amplifier and End of Line testing and balancingUsing plant test equipment – including Signal level meters, volt / current meters, spectrum analysers, leakage testing meters, CPD testing meters, Optical meters & OTDRsMaintain and interpret records of daily work logs, data recordings, and network design mapsOperate communications devices and company vehicles in accordance with company policiesUse Workflow Management in real timeWork to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) set out by both the Client and ActavoSchedule relevant and appropriate maintenance checks and inspections for client’s applications and devices, carrying out thorough examinations and audits, identifying and fixing faults where applicablePositively promote the client’s brand, through on-site performanceAdhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your workRequirements :
