Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Experienced System Engineer needed to manage and optimize Linux systems, ensuring performance, security, and reliability. Key tasks include system patching, troubleshooting, engaging vendor, and automation. Join our team for a dynamic role in enterprise-level IT infrastructure.
You will be responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly activities required to deliver multiple project tasks on-time while following all process and procedures’, escalating issues as necessary, and creating / updating all necessary documentation. In addition, the System Engineer is responsible for but not limited to OS installs, upgrades, hardware moves and migrations, new server builds, providing advanced escalation support (including engaging vendor support), performance monitoring and tuning & host configuration.
Manage system performance and ensure high availability of Oracle Linux systems through tuning and monitoring.Perform patching, updates, and upgrades for Oracle Linux systems.Provide technical support and guidance to developers and other stakeholders on Oracle Linux-related issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of applications on Oracle Linux servers.Automate repetitive tasks using shell scriptsImplement security protocols and best practices, ensuring that Oracle Linux systems are compliant with organizational and regulatory requirements.Manage backups, disaster recovery, and system redundancy strategies.Troubleshoot software issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure system optimization.Create and maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, processes, and proceduresWhat You'll Bring
4+ Years UNIX Support experience including Linux, & OEL operating systemsKnowledge on Virtual Server builds (Linux / Oracle)Ability to work overtime and irregular hours when needed, including some nights and weekendsUnderstanding of high availability system design concepts and configuration best practicesAbility to manage multiple project tasks simultaneouslyUnderstanding process for Change and Incident ManagementHandling On-calls and troubleshooting skillsExperience in Scripting (Shell / Perl)RHCS cluster KnowledgeShould come up with innovative ideas to automate the repeated work.Helping Team with any technical issuesMulti-pathing software knowledge.Active participation in community meetingsPreferred
